Compatibility Issues While we try to maintain backward compatibility, the changes requested and bug fixes required that some of the compatibility issues are unavoidable. Unlock code are not backward compatible in all cases. You cannot use unlock keys generated by 2.3 with shareware secured with version 2.4. Nor will 2.4 keys work with all 2.3 secured shareware. SharewareLock component has built in conversion from the old registration information stores to the new, under most cases, the trial and registration information will be converted to the new scheme automatically. In some cases, your users may need new unlock codes if registration information conversion fails or if your users are using older versions than 2.3. Generating new unlock codes with program updates would be advisable, since re-installs would fail using the original unlock codes.
